Roof climbing and sleep diving.

I tried to rhyme the title and it didn't work at all. anywho last week I had yet another shoot! It was with one of my fav pals Kent Jose.

Kent is working on being an actor as well, but also likes an array of music. Long walks on the beach and so on. Ladies contact me for his info.

We walked around shooting and it was awesome every idea I threw at him he dove head first into. (sometimes literally). It was really fun. WE were fighting the sun all day, I need to start working out of my studio more. We got some great shots. Mostly headshots. Yet, I did manage to have him pose for some portraits I wanted to do. One we tried for maybe 20 minutes and it just didn't work. So while Kent was bored chilling on the roof I took a picture.

A little post work but mainly done in camera.

than lastly I had an idea (because Kent is such a ladies man) to have him running out of a house after getting down with yet another mom. Super awesome. Kent has a very like timid disposition at times. SO I used that combined it with the awkward character and we came out with this shot.

That's everything! Thanks for reading! I have another shoot this Saturday, scouting this week and editing. Fun Times, I am learning some high pass stuff right now just dabbling a little more in post everyday. Thanks for reading!

Another day another shoot....again....

I have updated my site just a bit. There were some problems with the way it was coming up on some browsers so I adjusted that as well as just adjusting the front page to capture more of my style a tad.

I wish I had the skill to do amazing landscape photography. Alas I ain't that good, i'll save the landscapes I am proud of for my flickr.

Anywho, today was Chaz Aherns headshots.

This guy is deff a cool guy, we were going for a certain look today. Or should I say looks.

FYI for those of you who want tons of looks in a short time with a photographer just so you know. Jeans go a long way.

Anywho we were walking around doing shots changing clothes and while walking to our last spot I plotted out a shot i really wanted to take. It would involve me looking like an idiot and climbing on top of a fence.

I figured I already have the idiot look down so why not the fence. so I did.

I took a few, thank goodness for decent auto focus cause I have to hold myself up with one of my arms while the other one did adjustments as well as taking the darned photo. It came out pretty cool I switched it with another photo I had on the front page now my front page is pretty much littered with portraits.

My book is coming along haven't taken to many photos but deff got a lot of cool people lined up in the coming months.

Anywho here is the said photo:

Also I usually post something that isn't on my site so here is another one from that same shoot today:

GO BLUE!!!

Until next time!

Another shoot for my book.

So I did another shoot for my book which is entitled as of right now. "The Things We Do"....I don't know how I feel about the titled yet. For right now I will just call it that so that way I have something to call it.

I have a friend by the name of Jeff Dix. Great guy. Knows a ton about music and is currently working on a screenplay called *censored* which is about *censored* so it's going to be pretty awesome. He has got a good grasp on storytelling from what I can gather we go out for drinks and talk it over. He is like the modern day Homer.

So I have gone to his house a handful of times and he has a storyboard where he lays out his scenes for his movie. It caught my eye one day and I decided to put him (and it) in my book.

I was deciding between two photos. One which I will put up here. The other is the one that will go in my book. I might be putting it on the site soon and make a separate section for photos from my book.

So here is the photo I decided against.

I like the photo a lot but a few things bug me that I couldn't let go.

First the beaming of my second strobe from the left was rough and awkward I could always photoshop that out but the big thing that changed it is...

Up to this point this is one of the first vertical photos I have taken that I have liked. My whole book right not is horizontal. Most of the books I own (photo-books) are one side. Either horizontal or vertical. I know I will eventually have to mix it up but for right now this photo didn't scream out to me enough to keep it. So I edited it roughly. Put it up here. And voila! Here we are...

More photos coming soon I have some interesting shoots set up.

More later!

on top of that. finished another shoot for my book and working on a second one today. Hopefully that goes well. I have a friend whom is a writer and I am trying to go for eye catching headshots/portraits for this one. A bit different than what I normally shoot. Good luck to me!

Here is a shot that isn't on my site and is not edited. I still like it though. Its from the last gaming shoot with Brad.

Cheers!

The Couch

So about two months ago I was at my friends Cullens house when I saw this couch. It was in a room noone goes in. Yet, the couch itself was so homey. Home-like. Anywho, I got an idea for this picture and I shot it yesterday. The thing I have recently realized is my shoots are very quick. So i think there is something I am doing wrong. Or I just don't have a big of an idea as I thought I started out with. So yesterday night I shot this picture and I figured it came out pretty good. I started off with one image in mind and it turned into something a bit more assymmetrical which is kinda my style.

So lemme know what you think, and as always. Enjoy.

Face Off 2009

This year I really got into Photography. For those of you who do not know me I am very competitive. I love going against other people for anything. I feel like I learn so much if I lose. Well, the winning isn't as cool. It's all about the learning. So I entered a photo competition called "SMASHBOX FACE OFF 2009". I wanted to get top 50. Wasn't even close. Although my lighting is ok. I need to study it more. I learned that through this comp. I want to get better and stronger. My image I felt like though in itself is still very strong. I was trying to keep it dark. At the same time get the point through. I like low lighting more so than very vivid light. It's hard to portray the image in my head while doing that. Win some you lose some.

I have had this idea for a while and felt like the competition was a good way to start getting it out there.

The basic premise was just the evolution of the gay community on how through the years it has become more and more accepted. Through ethnicitys. Half way through the shoot we decided to throw the ARMY image in there because of recent political debates and such. So we decided to keep it. I had to great models that were very gung ho and very professional so to that I give thanks.

Even though I didn't win anything I still gained a ton of experience. I'd like to thank Luis for helping me out and always being my tech when I need him. Patrick Patterson and Kent Jose for being very great models and staying in one place for 2 hours. Thanks Rudy for telling me. Thanks to everyone else who was just as excited as I was about the image.

Wait for the next Comp. I'll work even harder and stay tuned.

So here it is. Ask&Tell

Headshots and portraits

Man being in Los Angeles is a very demanding head shots realm. I have been working on some stuff this week another one of my projects is some headshots with a friend of mine named Brad.

Brad is actually a PA on Heroes really cool guy and we can talk about music for DAYS!

He is also very well versed in lighting and modeling. He was the first model I had that knew what I was going to say before I said it. It was pretty cool cause that I way I didn't feel bad when I told him a shot was turning into junk.

So we spent a good amount of the day shooting sun willing. The wind got a little heavy and I actually for the first time ever went up to Runnyon Canyon? I have no idea how to spell it.

So check these out. Enjoy:
